just downloaded the new(ish) 4th episode II trailer and it looks pretty darn cool. Things werent looking too good after the first few teaser trailers, looked a little too love focused, but this new trailer goes full out on action and sabres which is all very sexy :)

if anyone wants to know the location of a downloadable mpeg version (28mb) then PM me.

I want to know what others think as I am suitably aroused by the 4th trailer ;)

oh, you can view it online at the starwars.com website

It looks terrible.

If you add all the trailers together, the overall feel is that it's cheesy, weak and the effects look really poor. Yoda looks awful.

I hope to be proven wrong, but after The Phantom Menace.......

It's all a big shame really.

Hmm, to be honest I can't see anything wrong with Yoda. Yes he's CG this time around but so what?

Anyway, I agree the trailer does look excellent but then so did the trailers for the Phantom Menace and we all know how that ended up. I probably will go and see it but this time I'm keeping my excitement in check.

yep Jose is probably wise, phantom menace would have had to be exceptional to live up to its hype so maybe we will be pleasantly surprised?

I agree that the other trailers didnt do much for me, but this one (4) really did give me back some hope!

I am looking forward to seeing it. I enjoyed PM but it lacked a hero. The original Star War's film had Han Solo who has serious sex appeal and heroic qualities. PM had none of this, the two leading Jedi actors were extremely wooden and I think this is where the film was let down.

I still cannot believe they are not releasing it May 4th.
Think of the marketing campaign.

May the 4th be with you.

I know its a saturday but so what. It's got to be worth it.

I am really kind of worried by Episode II. The trailers look great but I cant believe how Lucas can sleep at peace knowing how much of a horrible film Episode 1 was. The action sequences were great, however the acting was wooden as hell and Jar Jar Binks should never have left the drawing board.

I hope Episode II doesnt turn out the same.

I would like to know how they are going to develope their space craft to look as bulky as Episode IV (indeed how are they going to go back to 1976 hair and fashion? :) ) but Lucas seems to be knitting the story together.. I just dont like it that this trilogy is being deliberatly aimed at kiRAB. I mean, in the original films we had Han Solo in it (kick ass cowboy character) and Darth Vader (who everyone feared.. he was a real bad ass). Darth Maul never came across as being anywhere near as effective as Vader..

Lucas really dropped the ball with Episode I (we should call it Return Of The Jedi 2..).. I really really hope he doesnt screw up on II.. otherwise he really has pissed on his own Picasso..

well... I never had the original 3 films down as examples of great acting, so for me thats not an area where episode one fell short ;-)

but whatever he does, nothing can take away from the first 3 so the worst that could happen is that it would be a real great shame if this and episode 3 dont get any better!

maybe once all 6 are together it will fit as at the moment there is a big gap between episode one and "star wars" so it doesnt quite fit. Yeah I guess I am just being hopeful :D

Check out the aintitcool website for Harry Knowles review of the first edit of the film. He is virtually ecstatic about how good the movie is (which is rare for him).. he even goes so far as saying it makes The Phantom Menace a better movie in retrospect.

Cheers.

Tell me about it. I'm getting so psyched. I read the AICN article last week and as more and more reports come in from screenings (mainstream press not just the net) the buzz is just great. In fact the only negative thing I've heard is that the first 20 mins or so is a little slow/dull. But with comments like "its the best SW movies since Empire Strikes Back", it sounRAB as if Lucas has more than redeemed himself after a rather disappointing start to the new trilogy.
