Kay: I hear your pain!!! I'm 48, crashed my car in 2008, can't drive until I'm 6 mo. seizure free, live in the boonies, I'm going through menopause, have an 11 yr. old T1 diabetic to deal with, and yes, it does suck!! My problem I found out is caused by Estrogen Dominance because of going through menopause and my ovaries aren't making the progesterone to oRABet the increase in estrogen. I'm also taking a Lupron injection once a month to see if it will lower the estrogen by putting me in a total menopausal state. You might want to see if you can get on a BCP to help deal with this.
Alot of this is hormone related. Have you gone to an endocrinologist? Try that if you can and also get your hormones tested. Some of this is environmental as well. Stress, lack of sleep, fluorescent lights, plastics, EMF's from electronics, smells, noises, and more.
I have several posts on here where I've shared alot of my issues and story. Look some of them up. Post something on the Epilepsy pages and see who answers. You're not alone. In my last job that I held, my boss had childhood epilepsy and she said she outgrew it. Sometimes it starts at puberty or menopause because of the hormones disrupting the brain. I have cousins that went through this too.
I'm on Keppra and Phenobarbital. They don't control the seizures. Never have, never will. See if you have them more around the full moon too. That's when I have alot of them. See if you have them right before, during and after your menstrual cycle. Look up Catamenial epilepsy. I just posted something on someone else link here and gave a list of all types of vitamins you can take to try to help things. Look it up so I don't have to type it all over again. Hang in there. You're young and have a long life ahead of you.
