Epic Song Moments

Around 0:13 I always get goose bumps when that amazing corabination of bass and guitar comes in.

Go to 3:58; in about two seconRAB the tempo shifts into the second part of the song.

The first half of this song is great in its own right, with some the most addictive lyrical refrains on the market ("LOTS OF NAKED GERMANS WHERE AT LAST WE USED TO CRY!"), but the second half ups the tempo and reaches for the stars. Over a period of four-ish minutes, Faust essentially took an addictive synth/guitar riff corabo and kept adding static/instrumentation/addictiveness to it, making the repetition only become MORE enticing as it goes on. When it finally enRAB, you're bound to wish it hadn't.

^obvious post rock fan is obvious. The 2:41-4:22 part and the vocals at the end are just epic. not to mention the build up on here is amazing, and they do the build up thing quite well. I'll shut up about battles now.

The 6:21 point on is just epic and upliftingly beautiful....

The beginning....

I haven't listened to much music lately, so I'll just chuck a few examples from my lastfm top 10 out here...

^ The whole track gives me the chills, but when it falls to near-silence at 4:10, and for the minute and 10 secs after that basically sums up why I love this album so much.

^ The melody from the accordion that takes this tune to its fadeout from around 2:40 just gets me every time. Marvellous little song this.

^ This whole song's probably among the 25-odd best I've ever heard, and when that organ kicks in for the intro makes for another one of my favourite song moments.

Good to find another The Clean fan around here.

The synth bit that pops up at 1:10, for example.

The chorus and from 3:00 to 4:19.

"And you never have to face up to the night on your own" and chorus.

The chorus.

Most of the song feels bloody epic to me, but those little guitar bits in the background are amazing. So are the piano ones.

"Let us go and rob the bli-i-i-i-i-iiiiind" and the "oooh ha ha ha ha ha ha" (great explanation, eh?)

I suppose I should stop for now, but there are many more.

Definitely. It's the best track on Closer and one of my favourite JD songs. The intensity of the song and the lyrics are incredible, the lyrics really give a good picture of what was going on inside Ian's head. Great basslines from Hooky as well.

At 0:13 it starts grooving (this gets me every time) and then it goes into a whirlpool. Just as it manages to emerge, at 1:29 everything melts and after a while it comes back again. At 2:13 it's all cool. Great instrumental.

The beginning. The first 3 seconRAB are the best part.

Entire song makes me shiver. (Recorded version is better. :P) First time I heard it, I decided it was the best song I'd ever heard in my life. Its repetitive as hell but I really can't name too many that I think are better.

These are the final minutes of Cult of Lunas Ghost Trail. When I saw them live they played this as a last song and it destroyed me.
