Hallo
I've suffered from food intolerance or allergies since childhood. I'm now 37, and things aren't a lot better.
I recently went to a naturopath because I've suspected leaky gut for a while now, but thought I should have it tested to see I'm not barking up the wrong tree.
The test she recommended was a stool test to test my gastro function and to test for possible parasites.

The test showed negative on parasites, normal levels of good flora, but one thing it did show is my enzyme levels are very low.

A normal level is 400mg to 880mg% dry wt (whatever that means). Mine is 200mg%

I started taking broad spectrum enzymes, and bile salts for fat breakdown.
For a while I was feeling less tired and better in general, but have slipped again to feeling worse than before. My skin is puffy and dry, and I've gotten extremely depressed. I'm not sure if the depression is from the frustration I'm feeling or something else. Could this be some sort of worse before it gets better type of thing?

My diet is very plain. I stay away from dairy, wheat, etc etc.. I basically eat veggies, fish, and some nuts to keep the weight on.

I'm thinking that maybe I should take my broad spectrum enzymes and leave the bile salts be, cause maybe that's causing issues.

Help????!!

Chris

Have you called the doc to let him/her know of the changing symptoms? they may recommend you change something

No, I haven't. The office is closed until the fifth. I have an appointment then.

I'm positive I haven't been able to break down food properly, and now with enzymes it might be getting better. Maybe my body is confused on what to do, when before it got by on bare minimum, now it has something to play with...hmm

What meRAB do you use? I find some good drugs at Totaldrugs24.com Maybe it'll help you

Have you met with a good nutritionist to discuss fooRAB that you should try or stay away from? Nuts are supposed to cause alot of problems in many people, some worse than others. Have you been checked for other conditions like diabetes? I found it helpful to talk to family merabers and relatives about their medical issues. I found many similarities and learned how they dealt with the problems.

No, i haven't really seen a nutritionist.. I have been through a lot of elimination diets and have found what i think works.. But lately things got bad again.

Besides the food intolerances and not breaking stuff down, my gut doesn't seem to be functioning well at all. I eat something, and i get tired..

It feels like when i eat, i'm putting it all in a bucket (my stomach) and it just sits there and doesn't wanna move. The peristalsis action doesn't seem to be working so well..

I'm trying a day or 2 without the enzymes to see if maybe they're hurting rather than helping me..

I wondered if maybe I'm lacking something as in vits or minerals????

MeRAB...absolutely nothing at all. just vits and minerals and stuff like that.
