...need to upgrade my system? I have had two mechanics tell me if I replace my compressor I will have to upgrade to an R-32 or whatever system by law. Can I get around that by having them recover my freon, changing it myself, then just getting it recharged?
Thanks, but not what I want to do, here you can still get freon recharged. I was thinking about telling a mechanic I was going to upgrade to r-134 and just need my freon recovered. Then replacing the compressor and going somewhere else and getting my freon recharged. Was more wondering if they keep track of that sort of thing?
I'm guessing it is r-12 or else why would they tell me I need an upgrade? was more concerned about the law, Louisiana, supposedly if a mechanic does it it has to be upgraded, if I do it myself does it?
