He has had two weeks of non-stop media coverage on all the US networks and a televised memorial service (the likes of which are only reserved for former US Presidents, the Pope, and other major figures like Princess Diana and Mother Teresa).
Let Michael rest in peace. Yes, he was a cultural icon and talented artist, but his personal life was too controversial (his inappropriate relationships with children, sexual abuse allegations, drug use, plastic surgery, skin bleaching etc) for us to be venerating him in such a way. A house resolution for Jackson, are you kidding me? - comparing what the man did (in regards to race relations) with men like Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr? It is getting ridiculous...
