Enough with the Coca Cola ads

You know what really grinds my gears? Coca Cola's over zealous marketing campaign. Everyone knows Coke tastes good. I drink gallons of the shit every year. I'm certain hat everyone on the fucking planet who enjoys soda beverages is very well aquinted with the product. You would have to leave the industrialized world to be deprived of it, and I'm sure much of the Third World has access to it. My point is, the whole godamn world knows about it, but they insist on advertising it as though Coke is a brand new invention.
If you've been living in another galaxy your whole life and started watching TV today, you might guess that Coke was trying to compete with Microsoft, Ford or Anheiser Butsch. WTF?!?! It's not like they have competitors. They won the cola wars against Pepsi decades ago, because nobody else makes the same product (Pepsi is just flat, diet Coke that didn't pass the QA testing). So by default, as long as people want cola drinks, Coke has a monopoly. So why the hell do they bombard the airwaves and plaster walls, clothes and billboards with their ads? Are they trying to protect their turf from impending entry of Google into the soda market? Coca Cola ads are the perfect example superfluous bullshit.

the more they get the name out the more likely you will remember their product and buy it over pepsi, or if you are just sitting around and see one it might make you want to get a coke. on a side note, i fucking love coke, i think i drink gallons of it weekly :happysad:

Coke is good don't get me wrong, but how would the new generation of soda buying people know about Coca-Cola if they didn't advertise. They have to advertise no matter how big they get because that is how they got big.

And on a side note Coca-Cola is just rubbing it in that they cannot be touched by Pepsi or any of that other crap.

**Coca-Cola needs to start putting the little bit of Cocaine in their drinks like they did when they first came out.**

I love Coca-Cola.

Just to be educational and informational:

You do know the amount of cocaine in coca-cola back when it was an ingredient, was such a meager amount that you would have to drink about a bath-tub full to get a narcotic affect?

Coca-Cola was originally intended as a syrup to releive minor aches and pains, such as tooth aches, and headaches.

Hence the Cocaine.

back to your thread.

It's not about selling a Soda man. It's about selling the name. It's like Nike. Nike used to be shoes. Now Nike is whatever they can slap a swoosh on.

Coke is just a brand name. They just want to sell the name making anything with ther logo on it, more valuable and hence, a better profit engine.
