We had a test today in english, and it ended up being a take home test. I will put the questions I wasn't quite sure about or haven't answered yet. I just want as much input as possible because the test is completely short answer, so if you know ANY of the questions, an answer would be greatly appreciated. thanks. =)

1. Explain the beginning of Romanticism in England. Include the specific interests of both Wordsworth and Coleridge as well as the broader themes of Romanticism.

2. Why might (the poem) "Thanatopsis" be considered democratic?

3. How does Bryant's poem "To Cole the Painter" convey both American insecurities and pride?

4. What is the role of "The Haunted Palace" in "The Fall of the House of Usher"?

5. Explain the conflict between rationality and irrationality faced by the narrator of "The Fall of the House of Usher." Consider the influences on his imagination. Which wins? Do you think Poe fears the power of the imagination? Let "The Oval Portrait" inform your understanding of common Poe themes.

6. Compare the treatment of death in the work of William Wigglesworth, Willam Cullen Bryant, Washington Irving, and Edgar Allan Poe. You may make a chart or other diagram or list or draw to get your point across.
Our teacher gave it to us as a TAKE HOME test. As in, open book, open note, AND you can get help. We can do what we want with it. She is allowing us to get help.
It's not really. This is a VERY small portion of the test. Questions that I have already answered but I'm not sure about. Therefore, asking for help.

Sorry, putting a test up here is a violation of the community guidelines. Besides, having us do your test is just plain CHEATING. There's no way to sugar coat that.
