This is what it says on my sheet: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO READ ALL OF IT (JUST READ THE LAST PART- THE LAST TWO PARAGRAPHS, THAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT. I just put it there just in case some people may get confused or whatever
)
A theme is an 'idea' or 'topic' that runs through a test and can form the foundation upon which a text is built, and symbolism is the representation of something in a symbolic form. For this reason, theme and symbolism are closely related: a symbol in a test is typically an object or thing used that represents both itself, and some other idea/theme. Examples could include a character's 'green eyes' to symbolise the theme of envy; a piggy bank to represent the theme of greed.
Choose two of the examples mentioned above (the examples being the green eyes and piggy bank thing) and write a short 250-300 word creative passage that demonstrates theme and symbolism.
Does anyone have any ideas how to put the green eyes or the piggy bank ideas into a story plot that has theme and symbolism in it? I'm pretty good at writing stories, just not thinking up of plots ;S
