English Composition question, with quotations?

My paper can be either MLA or APA.
My question is which is the correct way to cite material?
My question concerns the ending with quotations and periods.
A) "blah blah blah (author)."
B) "blah blah blah. (author)"
C) "blah blah blah" (author).
D) "blah blah blah." (author)
I think its (C). What do you think?(direct quote)
