English 101 help....Discuss whether or not writing has a political agenda or purpose?

Both Orwell's and Didion's essays, "Why I Write" are good examples of essays illustrating the value of and occasions for writing, and that among many reasons, writing may be a political act. Discuss whether or not writing has a political agenda or purpose. Orwell says that it does, Didion implies that it does not. To which viewpoint do you subscribe and why? Provide quotes to support your perspective.




Can anyone give me any examples on this?? I am so stumped!!!
