I would check the starter. If the solenoid does not work, and they are attached, then the started will not even give you a 'clunk'. The solenoid is basically a capacitor that stores 12 volts enabling the starter, that requires 24 volts to operate, to kick over. If the solenoid is not holding a charge, no start. You will need to lift the front end and support it by jack stands. Unbolt and remove it. Take it to the auto parts store and have them test it first. They should be able to confirm this.
