Engine Paint color

the colour involves 2 layers ,a mid/fine mettalic grey to cover repair, followed by a dribble of coarse mettalic in clear with a dash of matt additive mix to get the slight(eggshell)satin finish.

Worth taking the case off and getting it colour-matched and resprayed by a professional like Raceface?
That way it will look like new. The satin finish is not that easy to match. I just give the case to the painter (spotless clean of course) and get it back good-as-new.
If you are just trying to do a little touch-up you could try the touch-up cans at the car shop. You can spray a little into the lid, let it thicken for a few minutes, and brush it on, once you've got a good enough match. You might have to mix more than one to get the right colour.
But if the cover is scarred, it really needs to come off and get repaired by a painter, who can fill the scars and repaint the whole case.
