Engadget Nokia N8 vs. iPhone 4: camera showdown

It would be good to ignore any further reviews, comparisons, etc until real people start to post..probably late next week or the week after

even the people comments who admit to disliking Nokias are saying the "tests" weren't fair....
w/ the email portion it was like 5 seconds before he hit the email icon....
it's an envelope, how hard can it be....
I'm angry now....

I am at an utter loss for words on that "battle footage". Why would a tech blog that values any kind of credibility post such flawed video footage? The N8 user was either a complete moron that didn't know that the envelope icon was used for messaging, & the compass icon was used for navigation, or (as it looked to me), purposely fumbled about the display & functions, so as to make the N8 look worthless.

I could've worn a freakin' "slanket" over my head, & used the N8 better than that moron Sam.

you guys should watch this

This compares the actually time that gizmodo put on that video. The guys must know his Symbian ..I think it would be most fair if they put all 3 phones in hands of people who know the OS ...iPhone and Bold been out for a long time and any new phone will need sometimes to get used to and apparently they put that Nokia N8 in the hands of an inexperience user (probably an Intern) lol

Just keep in mind that he's using the kit 18-55 lens, which while capable of taking pictures is not too great in terms of quality, and it seems that he used automatic settings for both cameras.

Idk how/why you would even point that out.. it's an slr camera.
I like the blues on his N8 pictures a lot more, on the Canon the bright day looks way too bright in some of the pictures.

This thread should be closed..it's pointless. For anyone to debate the N8 camera vs the Iphone 4 is ridiculous. It's like saying night is day and day is night

The comparison is about as useful as what engadget did between the iPhone and the N8  yes it takes great pictures, but I feel like a lot of people are just grasping at anything

Agree 100%

The iPhone4's camera is average...at best. I guess it's just natural to compare any new device released to Apple's flavor of the year, but some of these comparisons are indeed getting ridiculous.

Engadget just loves to get on Apple's jock though...

Apple was never too interested in image/video capturing capabilities and because of that, the Nokia N8 can shine over the iPhone in one of many aspects.

IntoMobile has its own iPhone 4 and N8 camera test. While iPhone 4 has neat post processing, certainly can't win over the Nokia when it comes to low light.
