I think they may run several thousand dollars. Not like ten thousand, but more around three thousand or so. You have to pay the doctor, the nurse anesthetist, the center where it is conducted, the medications used, etc.
I had to pay quite a bit out of pocket three years ago when I decided to have a corabo endoscopy-colonoscopy. I had to undergo the routine colonoscopy due to age and wanted an endoscopy due to reflux. I therefore convinced the doctor to perform both on the same day since I was going to be under anesthesia anyway. I think I paid around $5000.00 for my share of the expense for both. But I am self-employed and self-insured and have pretty basic insurance.
