And even when you read stuff from people who didn't like the finale, it's a mythology/answers issue with the vast majority of them, although IDK what they actually expected because Damon said that Across The Sea was the "mythology" finale and The End was the character-based one.

I don't think any of the non-shipper, regular fans had any issues with how the couples ended up and who was together. Or who wasn't? ;)
