encrypt my php file's code but still be able to run it?

I am developing a website for somone but i dont want them to be able to steal my php code, at the same time i is going to be on their servers.

is there any way to encrypt a php file while maintaining its ability to be read by theserver and run?

not a paid app,, want a free solution.
