Hey guys,

Just went from windows to my first mac.. loving it but still using bootcamp to run windows every once and a while till i find all the apps that can do my old windows functions lol..

anyways, i've found handbrake, ffmpgx and isquint and they seems to encode videos fast but i can't get any of them to play on my e61 via real player.. anybody got any hints? do i need specific settings?

ya that part i get.... i want to make mp4's that i can use across all phones... like good ole mysh's app.. but i refuse to buy quicktime pro lol

gonna try that ..but i'm not interested in 3gp really.. i want mp4 darn it lol

i think the e61 doesn't support h.264.....

thanks for link...but... it's all 3gp stuff

The best thing I've found so far is by the same company that makes iSquint. I don't rememberwhat it's called but as soon as I get back to my mac I'm going to try the flash movie settings and flashlite 2.1 for symbian 60 v3 as my player

visual hub works... that's made by the people that did isquint... quality seems pretty good just tried the demo version....but it only give me 2 mins... but it works well and encodes really fast..need to find out the settings it's using or a "free" version

confirmed.. that visual hub works... and it's a damn good encoder too it seems.. easy to use (drag and drop) and has a lot of custom settings like SUPER or MYSH's M3 app... just need to confirm the bitrate etc it's using at max and test it's limits

I would avoid H.263. I've found mp4 to be better video quality at comparable bitrates. And by mp4, I _don't_ mean H.264, but rather the older mp4 that is supported by all the E and N series phones. I think it is technically known as "mpeg 4 part 2". I'm quite happy at bitrates between 200 and 300.

You could also look at DivX and the mobile DivX player for S60. I use linux, but the same tools should be available to you under OSX; the 'mencoder' (from the mplayer project) does a great job of converting videos for me.

I have a script at home to do it, if interested I'll paste it's contents later. Just the switches and stuff, I just feed it any video I want and it spits out a phone friendly DivX/AVI.

ya that's what's required for ffmpgx.... mobile divx is nice.. but the main objective is to create files that are HQ that can be shared... the mp4's can be shared with pretty much all phones... +/- the bitrate

s603rd mp4's all work on any se's i have and some samsung and moto's
