Enchancement not supported (headphones and E62)

I have the new E62 and i'm trying to get some headphones working on the phone. I just got some Sennheiser MM10 headphones with a 2.5mm jack and three rings around the plug. When I plugged them in it said "Enhancement not supported." Then i bought an 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter at radio shack and after i put the adapter in it said "enhancement not supported."

What is going on? Can someone help?

i had the same problem. the jack on the e62 is a proprietary jack that is disgiused as a universal 2.5mm jack. i have not been able to find headphones to fit it, i haven't looked much though. i'm sure you could find some from nokia or cingular.

I bought an adapter off of Amazon that is supposed to adapt the three ring connector to a standard 2.5mm jack. I don't have any 2.5mm headphones but I went to Radio Shack a couple of hours ago and tried the adapter with a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter and my regular headphones. No sound at all.

Looks like we are going to have to wait for Nokia. And the worst part is I want to adapt the headphones to my in the ear phones I wear inside my helmet so I will probably end up cutting them up when they come out.

there as another thread on this, the e62 uses a new like "media port" or something different. Supposedly the new music stand speaker things come with the proper adapter. others have reported success using a treo 700 something stereo headset. I tried to make one and figured out the resistance to get the phone to accept my homemade cable but no matter where i attach the speaks i don't get stereo sound, i think i need some of the one was current things i can't remember the name at the moment. there is a nokia stereo headset out there for it, i think lets talk had it.

if you want the easy way, get the radio shack 2.5 to 3.5mm adapter, i know it doesn't "work" by itself that is. what you need to do is plug in the headset that came with the phone, then you have to be quick unplug that headset and plug in the radio shack adapter before the phone realizes you did anything and boom true stereo sound.

that is my workaround for the time being.

it works have done it many times, you just have to carry around the old headset with you, lol.
