Emsmom NEEDS our prayers and thoughts!

Hi Emsmom, I am also new here, but glad to see a post from you and hear that you are getting better. That flu must be awful. I have heard it compared to the 1918 flu. I was taking my 92 year old grandmother around on some erranRAB on Thursday of last week and we were talking about it. She was born in 1917, and she was telling me that she caught the 1918 flu and it nearly killed her. She had just learned to walk shortly before she caught it, and when she recovered, she'd been down so long that she had to learn to walk again.
I hope you are 100% very soon!

I am sorry I have been MIA but life has been so hectic. This post is not about me though.

I wanted to come here and ask everyone to please pray or think positive thoughts for Emsmom as she has the SWINE FLU! She was just released from the hospital yesterday and is in the clear now but she was isolated for 5 days and she said it was the worst thing she has ever had to endure.

No matter what your spiritual or religious beliefs are.... Do what you do and keep her in your heart and mind. We are a family here and I know I can count on everyone's support.

Emsmom has done a lot of good on this board! I will give further updates when I have any and I am sure she will pop on when she is well enough to. She is still recovering and neeRAB her rest now though.

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to give a little update! Emsmom is doing a lot better but is still feeling pretty weak!!! The unfortunet thing is she did get a secondary infection but they are treating her for that now and if I know her..... It won't be very long before she is back in action!

I just wanted you all to know since she is such an amazing meraber of this board and let's face it... we all stick together!

Just checking in for an update on Emsmom, if anyone has any info. I know there were some lingering health problems, and I was just thinking of Emsmom and wondering how she is.

Emsmom, you're still in my thoughts and prayers.

OMG! Swine flu -- that is terrible news! I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers. We hear about the worst cases but many many have recovered, so let's think positively for her. Please keep us posted....
 
Secrets, thanks so much for the update. I haven't "talked" with Emsmom on the board yet, but I've been following this thread and hoping for news. I've read some of Emsmom's posts and she's awesome!

Getting a secondary infection on top of the swine flu (which is bad enough) must be just horrible for her. I hope the treatment will make her recovery as quick as possible.

My thoughts and prayers are with Emsmom, and I can't wait to meet her!

Hey Everyone!

Sorry for my absence everyone! I have missed you all greatly! However, I have had some family issue's that have taken my complete attention. Everything is ok.

As for our dear Emsmom. She is still having a really hard time. The swine flu symptoms are all gone however, that secondary infection in her respitory system is still giving her problems. I need to ask you all again for thoughts and prayers for her because she was once again back in the hospital because she collapsed and was not getting air. This happened at home the first time and they took her in and then it happened again at the hospital. Please keep her near to your hearts! She is one special woman!

If I hear more I will update on Monday.

She told me this morning she was in the clear or they would not have let her leave the hospital so thank God for that! I know she till is feeling the effects though and I just pray she has a speedy recovery!

Thanks so much for your support! That is why I just love this board. We all look out for one another!
 
Secrets, I'm so sorry about your situation; family issues do get complicated sometimes, I know from experience.

Poor Emsmom - out of the frying pan, into the fire! If you can, please let her know she's in my thoughts and prayers, and I hope her recovery picks up and goes better than it has so far. I've heard that sometimes swine flu has complications that can be worse than the original flu, which is bad in itself.

Thank you to everyone for your well wishes. I am feeling much better, however still having issues with my respiratory system. I am currently taking a very high dose of steroiRAB and antibiotics and I am still in bed alot of the time. I do however, feel a great deal better than a couple weeks ago. This flu really took everything out of me. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy!

Secrets, I was reading posts and saw this about Emsmom having Swine flu. I will keep her in my prayers everynight. I am thank-ful to God she is in the clear now and pray there will be no side effects. May God bless everyone on here. LOL, Fiesty2

The family issue's have been tough. It is nothing between my husband and I thankfully but it effects my entire family and it has truly broken my heart! I will share more on Monday.

Hello FrienRAB!

I hope this post finRAB you all doing great! I am writing an update in regarRAB to Emsmom. I spoke to her this afternoon and she is now home from the hospital but still having a hard time absorbing oxygen the way she should. You all know Emsmom though... She said "it is what it is" She has been an inspiration watching her recovery as well thru all of this!

That is pretty much the extent I know right now but she said to say hello to everyone and she wishes you all the best!

It's the end of another crazy hectic day. I am so sorry to have not been able to be there to support you all lately. I feel such guilt for it. Tomorrow hopefully I will be able to spend more time on here.

I miss you all and wish you all blessings of peace!

THank you to everyone who has responded! I am sure Emsmom will really appreciate reading your well wishes when she recovers.

The last update I received was yesterday and she was still feeling REALLY crummy. She has lost her voice and has mostly just been in bed trying to get better. This has been a really hard experience for her but one we are thankful she has survived! She is one TOUGH cookie..(we all already knew that though)
