Emergency and travel phone...

Howdies.

I need a Verizon phone (cause I need good fringe and travel coverage). I'd like to keep it simple and the plan as short as possible.

Needs are:

1) Good reception. Locally, I'm in a fringy area and consensus is Verizon is best. When I travel, it includes AZ, NM, TX panhandle, OK. Major and minor highways.

2) Good sound. I'm slightly hard of hearing so "weak" or bad quality sound ain't gonna cut it.

3) Good "standby" battery life. I won't use it much--and don't want to have to keep recharging it every day or two.

Do I need a quad or tri-band phone since I'll be in fringy areas when traveling? Help!

That's it! I don't give a twit about camera, movies, bluetooth, ring tones, wallpapers, data, text msgs, GPS-VDOD-MOTO-EIEIO stuff.

Most of the Verizon ads I see try to get you into a 2 year plan and a high $$$ phone with all kinds of bells and whistles. I just need a 1 year plan and a good phone, period. There doesn't seem to be a lot of info on the low level phones...suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Best bet are the v276 which is free right now and the v325 which is better build quality both are tri mode they do have cameras on them but there not very good the v325 cam is better non have bluetooth if you want a candy bar then the nokia 2128 is awesome too. All of these are tri mode so you should get awesome rf.
