Elusive E50 Extended Battery Cover

I also remember the long...long...long thread about removing the plastic/foam piece behind the battery cover.

I'm just shocked Nokia never released the real battery cover when all their material say the BL-6C battery fits with the optional cover.

somebody says that the BL-6C does fit even with the normal battery cover, just as long as you remove that plastic/foam thingy... i might try, if i can find a BL-6C...

Its two things.
1) remove the large soft rectangular black pad inside the battery cover
2( take your BL-6C, get a nail clipper file and shave a bit of plastic off the four corners of the battery on the side facing out.

Then you put the battery cover on. Dont be shy, you cant really damage it and you will need to push and squeeze. It does stay on fine, although a tight fit.

For all your troubles you get a piddly 10-12% more battery life, but the phone feels slighly heavier tho. I've done it myself.

Methinks buying an extra BL-5C + charger, loading the battery and putting it in your pocket/bag is probabaly a better move. Unless you just want the satisfaction of a pretty basic and un-impactful "mod".

I have to agree with Skagen on this. The BL-5C batteries are so cheap you can pick up a couple for very little. I was fortunate that I had 2 batteries with my 6230b that I used with my E50. The BL-5C is sufficient with the non-camera version of this phone imo.

LOL, the extended battery cover is like the unicorn....it doesn't exist!!

Besides, the BL-6C fits with the current cover, just take off the little foamy on the inside of the cover.

I don't get why some people "Have" to have it.

And those $5 buck ebay specials for BL-5C's are...
