Elm Street Blu-ray Q

I'm sure all stores will stock it for a little while. Kind of like Disney putting slipcases on their new release DVRAB but a week later you look and none of them have it anymore.

Tesco should say if it's the lenticular edition(the claws), if it doesn't, I'd cancel and just order from play.com to be sure first time. The image on Tesco doesn't mention lenticular or have the claws. Unlike play.com.

How many more times are we going to see this type of complete rubbish posted on the internet from people who clearly have never watched a Bluray in their life ?

Ignore the nonsense.

The Bluray will blow the dvd away quality wise (unless you are watching on a 9" screen)

As the Blu comes with the dvd too you can see first hand how inaccurate such claims are

I have a 32" HDTV which is HD Ready.

I'm guessing then that this slip case that play.com are selling is exclusive to play.com and doesn't come with all versions of the blu-ray?

Anyone know if this special case with play.com is a cardboard sleeve, or the actual paper sleeve inside the case?

Just wondering what would be more collectable futurewise.

To me, sleeve means the cardboard box, and cover is the one that appears under the plastic of the normal box.

It looks like a slipcase edition anyway on the website.

I thought the whole point was because you wanted the lenticular sleeve with the claw marks on... you can send it back to play.com if it isn't the lenticular sleeve you wanted, as long as you leave it unopened but you have to pay to return it. Or why not phone them to see if they know?

Man, by the time you decide, you will probably find it out of stock... :p

Also (please see my last post above), I have the remastered version of the first film, and an upscaling dvd player, is this just as good as blu-ray? Will I actually notice much difference?!

my view is hardly any DVD/bluray slip covers are worth money in the future.
Through all of my years I went out of my way to always get the special covered version. paying a little more sometimes. play.com version and HMV version particually. however - they aint worth anything on the collectable market at all. its just what they mean to you. And how it will look on your shelve.
the steelbook Blurays are the only ones i have seen which are worth anything so far (and apart from special statues/model head editions)

The best thing I ever kept thinking it was worth money was The X Files Season 1 on VHS in the mid 90s. I have forgot how much I paid for it. The boxset was extremely limited - and I kept it unwrapped for ages. I soon found out, from the For Sale section in SFX mag, people where wanting up 250 quid for that very boxset - and folk where going mad for it!!
I kept it longer thinking it would be worth more money down the line.
Then DVD came out. and it was worth nothing.
That very boxset is worth 50p when i last looked!!!

Bugger to hear about that X-Files box set, I have that one too. But I bought it because I was obsessed with the series and wanted all the episodes, not for future collectors. So not really disappointed.
