I am trying to design a circuit to cut the power supply to a battery that is charging, and have come across a few key problems perhaps some on here may be able to help with... so im charging a battery, and say its time to stop charging. Are there any programmable components out there that can be used to regulate charge? it also needs to be small enough to fit onto a model aircraft, essentially its a solar powered aircraft that charges batteries mid-flight, however my electronic knowledge leaves a little to be desired, and i do not know of any component that can know when charge is at a certain level. could a capacitor be used to throw a relay that then changes the direction of flow? any suggestions are more than welcome.
well we are expecting a problem to arise, as we're using LiPo batteries, and i know they can be volatile... someone said about there not being enough power to do any damage? is this true for LiPo's as well? The relay is merely a switch the throw the circuit, its more about how monitor the charge thats the problem, we know LiPo's dont respond well to irregular charging patterns...
