If you're wanting a more powerful spark, an electronic unit by itself to replace the points won't do it. If more spark is what you need, keep the points and upgrade the ignition coil (s) with something like Nology, Dyna or even automotive units. You'll still have to adjust the points occasionally, but you'll have better starting, running, fuel economy, etc.
