I've just fitted a new radio Audiola FD87 (piece of rubbish) to my girlfriends Vauxhall Corsa 2001. The old radio was a Sony and had all appropriate connections. The new radio, on the other hand had only 4 wires.

Red - Power
Black - Earth
Green - Left speaker
Gray - Right speaker
And that's it!!!!!

I hooked up the Red radio wire to the cars red wire but even with the engine on it didn't work. Now I've changed to the Yellow wire which I believe to be the Memory wire and the radio works. I hooked up the earth to earth and the two speakers and the radio now works fine.

Now the problem - The internal light doesn't work and when I flick the switch to test it turns the clock on/off!!!!

There are quite a few loose wires left over from the radio installation (which I've wrapped).

Red - ?
Blue - antenna
Orange - ?
White - It says "Car Aux volume"
Several speaker wires for rear speakers (which the car doesn't have)

Any pointers greatly appreciated as I don't want the good lady on my back if she has a flat battery tomorrow morning.
