ok...update.

pulled the seat and battery,,,,CB is a 50 amp so the previous owner did the recall... BUT.... checked the connections and the main wire from Battery terminal was crimped on ON TOP OF THE INSULATION !!!! yep. terminal was crimped with insulation under the terminal. Made connection somewhat during crimp but obviously was not a good connection. Cut it off and put on new terminal and soldered this wire as well as the other 2. they looked ok...I will find out tomorrow if this fixed it...

I think that I found and repaired my problem. Mine only died 4 times in 2 days which was immediately after I layed it down to the crashbar while stopped. Of course the engine died as it should have but was hard to start and ran poorly for a 100 miles or so. I had the circuit breaker and the tilt/kill switch replaced and I haven't had the problem again. So think about this....if your switch was defective it would have all of the same symtoms. Try replacing it as it was a cheap fix. I will keep this blog posted.

I rode my bike about 120 miles yesterday and it didnt cut off at all. I am more confident that the bad crimp was the culprit but still very cautious.
I looked at the wiring schematic and the best I can tell is the tilt/down switch just kills the ignition side but not all power. But I'm not sure.
I am like the other posters, I would like to be sure that its fixed before a night ride or long trip.....so we'll see.
Thanks
CC
