No.

If you're really interested in the subject I highly recommend this book:

Ya it would have, they were purchasing the land prior to Britain giving them their official state.

Theres soooo much more to it than that...honestly, if you're really interested get that book.

I realize there is a lot more to it than that, but at the rate they were going along with their funding they would have gotten their statehood one way or another after WWII

It wasn't "given" to them at all, they declared independence unilaterally. The post you were responding to cited the division of control of the middle east by the triple entente post ww1, not the UN partition plan in 1947, which I believe you are confusing. The former was absolutely pivotal for the proponents of nationalistic zionism.

I think we can agree that Israel has been a problem since it's inception, and unfortunately it only seems to be getting worse.

They want to do to the original inhabitants of the region, the same thing the early settlers did to the native Americans.
We live in an era where this has become unacceptable behavior for a state, but because they have the backing of the USA they can get away with it.
No matter if you support Israel or you don't, a solution has to be found.
Nobody wants a nuclear confrontation to breakout in the Middle East due to zionist paranoia, ultra nationalism or religious xenophobia.
