I'm not that far from you. They had a "Hatch Chile Week" at Raley's last
year. They looked like an ordinary Anaheim. I really should have bought
one so I could thumb my nose at you. As it is, they're still a mystery
to me. DW isn't much for chiles, and I won't cook separate meals.
Raley's, Bel Air and Nob Hill seem to be under the same corporate
umbrella. Surely you have a Nob Hill grocery somewhere near you.
Well, I'll be, I just googled and there isn't. There's no Nob Hill on
Nob Hill. What a bunch of knobs!

Right. None of them are on this side of the Bay. I wish we had a
Raley's here, we shop there when we're in Incline or South Lake Tahoe.

Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.

It's not quite the same thing since the eggs are fried but I like Huevos
Rancheros. Ill bet you could poach eggs in the Ranchero sauce.

It looks wonderful, and I've saved the recipe. We had a somewhat similar
dish in Southern Turkey where the eggs were cooked inside halved and
somewhat hollowed-out tomatoes. The other ingredients were similar. It was
blackened a bit on top then, so probably cooked under a broiler.

Thanks,
Keith

Kewl, thanks!

I haven't even noticed a can that calls itself Hatch.

Apparently Hatch is big in parts of the Bay Area where people "know"
about them, but ba.food was saying that some places just put them out
without labeling them and don't charge a premium - so we wouldn't know
what they were unless we saw the bag they came from with "Hatch"
written on it.

If my safeways had Hatch, they weren't labeled Hatch... so how am I
supposed to know? Apparently the mainly Chinese and other asian type
customers aren't swayed by the Hatch aura and don't care.
