Eggs or Pancakes at a Restaurant?

I am recovering from eating disorder. When we go out for breakfast on Sunday, I always order pancakes/blueberry pancakes. My parents are upset that I never order eggs/omelets. We've had a few arguments over it. We normally have eggs on Saturday, but I can't say that I don't want the same food two days in a row (I normally have cereal and oatmeal during the week). I tried to say that pancakes can be cooked differently or have different toppings (fruit, cinnamon, etc.), but they don't buy it. Eggs can be so different and pancakes are the same, according to them, no matter what. I don't have a problem with eggs, it's just I like pancakes more. I really like pancakes, but is there a way to convince them I can have them when we go out to eat? (Please don't say how bad pancakes and/or eggs are.)

If you and your parents are going to a restaurant that their claim to fame is "home cooking", then their batter for pancakes should have eggs in the batter. so you can have your pancakes and your eggs as well. some restaurants use a box or bag mix and then just add mild or water. You can call the restaurant ahead of time and ask the Chef if they use eggs in their batter. I prefer pancakes over eggs any day. If you are living with, not suffering from, an eating disorder then it's your responsibility to take charge of your body. GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Personally I love pancakes myself as well. I would just tell them that the eggs there just aren't as good as you would like and the pancakes are the best. I have the same problem with my family at a restaurant around my house that serves everything and I always get rice. They think that I'm just not open for anything new and that's not it. I just love the rice! (lol) Everyone is different about what they like to eat and your parents should understand that.
