Hi everyone,

I have to be at the hospital tomorrow morning at 8:30 eastern time.

Please everyone send good thoughts and prayers my way.

I'm really nervous and scared. I feel like I'm in a bad dream.

Chantal

HI Chantal dear! I have been praying for you tonight and will also in the morning. God is with you. Try to be at peace and think peaceful thoughts ok! The doctor will do a good job. Rest easy! You will be done before you know it and back home. I can't wait to hear from you that it's all over. Peace and hugs! God Bless! Come post here as soon as you are able!

Chantal,

All will be fine during the procedure tomorrow. The anticipation of the procedures is worst than the actual procedures themself. I've had both in the last 6 months. You will be done with the procedures before you know it. You won't even realize the time has passed.

Keep us posted on your results.

My thoughts will be with you.

Good morning Chantal and all, I am so thrilled that your tests came back great and that the doctor did not find anything of significance with your endoscopy. I am sure the polyp with be benign too. I bet you are relieved that the tests are behind you and you did well with the sedation. I hope you are feeling good today. It takes a couple of days to get that drug out of your system. Hang in there. I am thanking the Lord for your great results!! :)

Chantal,
I just found your post. I don't know if you will see this before you leave but just know that I am praying for you and will continue to pray for you today. I just pray right now that God will give you calm and peace. Don't be scared-God is going to take good care of you. You are so sweet and I really enjoy talking to you. Enjoy the good sleep that you will get. precious49

Hi Chantal,
Glad to hear your tests results were good. I'm interested in your comment that your doctor said many of your symptoms could be related to perimenopause. Could I ask how old you are? I've been on this same merry-go round for a year -- GERD symptoms, differents tests such as endoscopy, colonscopy, 24 ph test, mamonetry. My tests were all "normal" too, except for a very small hiatial hernia (0.7 cm). When I went to see an ENT last week who happened to be a woman, she made the comment in passing to her student doctor that she wondered about perimenopause, but then said at 44 I was too young. However, now having done some research at home, perimenopause can start as young as 40. Did your doctor mention what you should do about your symptoms? Did you have your hormones tested? I'm wondering if that should be the next step for me.

Hi frienRAB,

Thank you all so much!

Everything went well and like you, Tammy, my EGD showed no signs of reflux. Everything was normal!! My Dr didn't even think my hiatal hernia was that bad!! WOW!! God is so good.

My colonoscopy was fine too. The Dr did remove one small polyp, which is being sent for tests, that he is certain is benign! Thank God!!

Yes, the drugs are wonderful. I arrived all nervous and anxious and my anestheseologist was right there at my beRABide and gave me a shot of Versed in my IV to calm me. It worked and I felt better going in to surgery.

Once in surgery I was given Propofol and I went out "like a light". I do not remeraber anything!!

I am thrilled that the tests are over and praising God for his faithfulness!!

The Dr. thinks a lot of my symptoms are from perimenopause and fluctuating hormones!!

Now I'm trying to get my system back to "normal". They said it can take a few days. I'm eating lightly today, though I don't eat a lot anyway.

Thanks again, my dear frienRAB. You are all very special.

hugs,
Chantal

Kassie, hi! I am 44 and I am in perimenopause. I haven't had all the fancy hormone tests done yet. I am trying to figure out where I can do that so maybe I can get bioidentical hormones. OR whatever they are called.
I have had all the crazy things start happening just after 40. I have kept the night sweats at bay with the pro g yam creme I use almost everyday. It has progesterone in it.

Everyday I swear I have different symptoms. From my emotions, to being cold or hot, to fuzzy brain, Sometimes I feel like the blood is rushing to my head. That is a new symptom for me...and digestive disorders. I just had an endoscopy and the doc couldn't find anything wrong in there. I can't eat much spicy food anymore. Have to be careful about everything I eat. Can't get weight off hardly at all, developed hypothyroidism at age 40, have panic and anxiety disorder, have had plenty of attacks over the past months, Frankly I just feel like I am falling apart. I am lucky I can still hold a job down. Sometimes I feel like I can't work. I feel like my symptoms get the best of me. Am I going crazy ladies?

whoops, I probably should have posted this one on the menopause board, but hey some of these troubles go hand in hand.

Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for sharing in my happiness regarding my test results.

I wasn't on the computer much yesterday as I was just really tired and felt like resting.

As for hormones and stomach/digestive problems, all I know is what my primary care Dr told me. She said that our gut is VERY sensitive to hormones and hormonal fluctuations. I am 53 and still having regular perioRAB (it's the dregs). I have not had any fancy hormone tests done. I have tried going back on the pill but that seemed to make my gut problems worse, especially the GERD. My Dr gave me a prescription for a diiferent pill to try and I may do that.

To all who suffer digestive problems I wish you the best in your search to find relief. I've had problems all of my life and I know how discouraging and difficult it is.

God bless.

Chantal

I am beginning to think this perimenopause thing has everything to do with the digestive problems. I have never had this issues until the last couple of years. ugh! Now I have to watch everything I put in my mouth. I made a HUGE mistake again last night. What was I thinking? I had two deep fried egg rolls with my salad. Boy did I pay. I have been up half the night. My gut hurts...I had IBS things going on. I sucked on a Tums, propped myself and tried to get a little more sleep. It's going to be SO HARD going to work here shortly. I just want to stay in bed and try to get some rest. I feel so lousy. How can things like this just wipe me out? Now I am freaked out that there is something else wrong with me. Gee, the doctor just looked in there and found nothing and I guess that doesn't mean we still don't suffer. To top all that off the flu is going around in the 3rd grade classroom I work in and I hope I am not getting that.

This perimenopause thing is one direction that I have not explored at all before in the 1.5 years since this all started. I don't have any other symptoms of perimenopause but it is interesting that Chantal said her doctor said the stomach is very sensitive to hormonal irabalances. The next time I visit my family docotor, I am going to ask her if she will run some hormone tests. Even though the ENT I visited said 44 is too young, I saw on Oprah last week that women in their late 30s can be in perimenopause. At least it's another thing to explore.

I have an appt. with my gyno tomorrow. He is going to check my hormone levels and then make a plan. I don't think 44 is too young at all to be going through this. :(
