(Educated christians please) how can you believe?

how can you believe in the bible when it so wrong, saying humans were created a mere 6,000 years ago there is an immense amount of evidence that proves man was around longgg before that. as an educated person in society today how can you posibly entertain the idea than a man and woman were placed here 6,000 years ago from a pile of dust and fathered the entire diverse human population?
um "just me" is it? you denounce proof of evolution due to lack of evidence?

thats funny considering the lack of substantial proof there is of jesus christ's very existence.

are not sufficient answers.

what compels you to believe in something you can not see, feel, touch, or be given any proof of its existence other than a book (bible) written however many years ago based on the teachings of a man, no one can prove existed.
i never said i was athiest, or evolutionist or whatever.

right now I am sincerely confused and looking to thoroughly research all possible options. Christianity unfortunately as much as I would like to believe provides me with no more answers or proof than the average athiest can
 
How can I believe? Simple I just do. God told us in several instances that His time was a bit different from ours. We do not know if He was referring to His time or our time. There is a lot we do not know. However, the same could be said for science. For instance, one month eggs are bad for you. The next month eggs are good. Well you get the picture science is full of educated guesses that go back and forth until someone figures it out. Science has not now or ever disproven that God does in fact exist. So until that day comes how about you believe in your science and change your diet every other week and I will stick with mine. Sound like a plan? Good.
