Educated arguments needed to convince a racist he is wrong?

For no reason my long time best friend recently has become extremely racist when he was never like that before, and now it's unpleasant to hang around him because I can't even casually mention a black actor I saw in a movie without him going into a rant full of racists insults. I try to reason with him that hating a person just because they are a different race is wrong, but if that person did something bad to you then of course it's alright to not like them, no matter what their race is. After I say this he usually calls me a "n*gger lover" and then doesn't listen anymore to what I have to say. Anyone know some really great, educated arguments and facts that I could use against him to finally convince him that he's wrong?
