That chart is pretty awful, and I'm definitely in favor of immigration reform.
It completely ignores one of the fastest ways - The fiancee visa, which can get you in and living in the US in 6-12 months
Plus, it makes it sound like green cards and citizenship are the only milestones. You can get in on various visas and live/work legally long before you can get a green card, and then transition to the green card, and later citizenship, etc.
Problem is, depending on the industry, etc, even those much faster ways can still be 1-2 years.
And that's assuming everything goes through the first time. A bunch of immigration/visa applications get rejected and you have to start from scratch over stupid small things.
