Currently
945p-a v1.1 mother board
Pentium 4 3.2 GHz
geforce 6800 gs
2 GB ddr2 ram
350 w power supply
A few things I would like to know:
-what is the purpose of the processor when playing a game, compared to a video card? for instance, which loads the environment, or determines how much action can be happening at one given time before lagging up?
-is a Pentium 4 3.2 GHz and a radeon 4850 a good match?
-what power supply would I need to run the given setup? Pentium 4 and radeon 4850?
-Would upgrading from a Pentium 4/Geforce 6800gs to Pentium 4/radeon 4850 make a dramatic increase in performance? Or would the Pentium 4 bottleneck the new video card?
note: I don't want to buy a whole new motherboard to upgrade to a better processor, so I'm sticking with the P4. I want an i5 sooo bad
THANKYOU IN ADVANCE
my motherboard supports PCI express 2.0...
