EDGE Outage?!

This inquiry is for my fellow Stackers and TMO reps who live/work in the Tacoma, WA area, specifically in the immediate vicinity of the Tacoma Mall.
Has anyone in the afore mentioned area been experiencing problems with EDGE? I had a Pearl up until 2-weeks ago and never had any problems connecting to the internet via EDGE. I recently acquired a Curve and haven't had any problems until yesterday when I noticed that my EDGE changed to GSM. People at the office were wondering why I hadn't been replying to their PIN messages (they are from the CDMA camp), and that's when I discovered that I wasn't "connected"!
I went through the whole process of a Soft Reset, Hard Reset, battery pull, SIM card pull, and even a Wipe Clean, as per Customer Care.....to no avail.
However, on my way home going south through the I-5 corridor, I noticed that
EDGE picked up again.
I'd be very disappointed if either my Curve was "inept" or the coverage area had somehow been "modified".
Does ANYONE know of a setting that I may have inadvertanly changed that I can simply switch?! I'd HATE to disconinue my service with TMO!

Any help and/or suggestions are appreciated.

I have the 8100 pearl and occassionally it will do that also. I run the memory clean up program and remove the battery for about 20 seconds and then the EDGE comes back. Don't know if this is you situation but it solves the problem for me. Try it and let me know if it helps.

It just might be a tower down, I would call 611 to report the problem. Sometimes thou I get GPRS instead of EDGE, which is fine since data still works. When I have GPS is usually when my service is at 1 bar or soo.

Everything is fine right now in the Kirkland area (east of Seattle)

Just got back from the TMO store which is 2-blocks from the office.
As I was walking from the car to their doors, EDGE popped up. The rep thought it might have been from the HotSpot in their store, but, I verified/confirmed that my WiFi was off and that I was indeed picking up EDGE signal. Evidently, the TMO rep said he noticed the same problem a couple of days ago in the general vicinity where he usually receives EDGE reception.
His thoughts are that there may be a downed-tower.....a TMO techie he left voice message with will hopefully call back with some useful info.

I've also noticed that my 8320 would cycle through EDGE, GSM and edge throughout the day. Today when I got home it was stuck on edge and has been so for the last 3.5 hours or so. I, also, have done the soft reset, battery pull and still have edge and not EDGE as I am used to seeing.

Lucky LOL Email was down from 9 PM Tuesday night (Central time) until around 2:30 AM Wednesday morning (for T-Mo, Rogers and AT&T). Last night I was reading about isolated outages affecting Verizon.
