Edge of Darkness

Has anyone else been to see this? I didn't see the BBC version in the 80's so can't compare the two but thought this was a really good film.
Mel Gibson gives a really strong performance. I forgot how good a serious actor he is.

It was pretty good but I'm not desperate to see it again....

Found it amusing when Mel Gibson asked the bloke to take off his glasses so that he could punch him....

Have only seen the excellent mini series (quite a few times) but might catch this when it's out on DVD. Comparisons between the two will of course be unavoidable, but I'm sure it won't be a patch on the 1985 original.

As I mentioned I have't seen the original so can't compare the two. What I really liked was it wasn't the usual Mel Gibson performance or role. This was more the kind of thing Tom Hanks or Harrison Ford does.

The weak part for me was Ray Winstone. I'm not a big fan of his at the best of times and it's his role in this that makes me so. It was like so many Winstone performances I've seen over and over again.
