"Eden of the East" Talkback (Spoilers)

Yeah, totally. Nice one, Production I.G. I know they couldn't resist adding that in. xD I wonder who that is on the ground. I can tell the guy on the left is Akira, but who's on the right?

Either way, episode 5 was

Haha. I'm thinking the previous picture was where he may have been before, and that shot is of him coming out of it and what not? Rofl. It was still great. Akira's too cool.

episode 5 filled in some more stuff and I think we can guess that the 20,000 NEETs were not killed. It sounRAB like he shipped them off to Dubai and they got whipped into blending back into society or something.

That S&M chick is scary.

Hmm...yeah, that's a good explanation for it.

And more proof of Akira's coolness? This moment....

Just look at his face during that scene, it was enough to make me pass out in laughter.

I think it was implied that he killed all of those people. Apparently he felt like taking a silly picture of himself before some huge mass murder, which is....well, funny in a really dark way.

Anyway, this series definitely has charm as well as excellent art and animation, thanks to IG. I'm looking forward to seeing what else these characters will be up against.

Some of the English is a bit stiff, and some things are a bit off in general. Why did that guy willingly surrender his pants? How did that one taxi cab driver(later in the episode) understand Japanese?

Well, regardless it was great.

Yeah, she really is creepy. Once we were introduced to that kindhearted doctor in the past episode, I should have known the next Selecao meraber in line would be someone from the opposite end of the spectrum.

Anyway, this was an interesting episode. Although it wasn't a feel good one all around, it had its share of uplifting moments. (The highlights for me were Akira's request on the prime minister to say "uncle", and the rendezvous between Saki and Akira in its' entirety.)

Spoilers for Ep 5
I feel horrible for Saki's friend. I initially thought of him as a nuisance when he asked her out but...from what it looks like now... The poor guy.

Yeah. She's scary indeed.

My thoughts on the scene..

While we do see Saki's friend in the sightline of the crazy Selecao, there is also another guy next to him as well, so who knows? Maybe he'll be okay. Then again, maybe he'll end up like that chubby rich guy. Who know. D:

The (cough) Johnny....Taker? Dear God, that's just hell.

Ah, so this is why the show is called Eden of the East. You know, I was sure that Saki's frienRAB weren't going to play any actual role in the show so it's good to see this. That being said, there's no way that this show is going to end conclusively. I'm assuming this all may be just set up for the movie.

Also, Akira knows how to make an entrance

Also, Micchon is many levels of adorable.

I thought the picture was a sign of him getting out of an organization that..."makes" people like him, whatever that may be, hence why they are all naked.

Like clones, except none of them look alike...

Johnny Taker = Scaaaaary. Would hate to run into her on the street, and yeah. I agree about how it'll probably end. IMO, we may get this huuuuge cliffhanger, like Akira 'dying' or something as to set up the movie or something, and it'll be PURE TORTURE OHGOD. That or.. I dunno. Either way, I can't wait.

Micchon = win.

Maybe he really is an exhibitionist..
I really like this show, I'm completely sold on the first episode it looks like it's going to be great. Plus Akira is cool.

The suspense was killing me so much through the episode that nearly every comedic effort failed to unnerve me. I was like a guard dog on full alert, suspicious of every little thing going on..

I think I've either found my new favorite anime of the season or this episode made me paranoid. Most likely both. DX;

So it was Oasis playing the opening song...too awesome.

Akira is one interesting dude and I love him already for his odd mannerisms.

I really hope he's not a terrorist, though. /=
No idea what's going to happen next, but I'm liking far too much of this to ignore.

I personally laughed really hard when the guy that was out with Oosugi the night before just like.. appeared in that cabinet behind them, and everyone's reactions.

Also, everyone's reactions were priceless when Akira came out on that walking teddybear thinger.

I am starting to like this anime. I have seen the first episode and there wasn't anything in peticular that dissapointed me. Really, it's been how long since we had an anime of this calier?

Eagleland and Gratitious English, be Damned!

I do find it strange that the Americans can understand the Japanese characters and vice-versa.

Don't you start.

.....

.....(thinks intensely hard)

Umm...Gurren Lagann...maybe?

I'm just chalking it up to "anime logic" and decided not to question it.
Oh, I'm not serious. It's just that I've never seen that before and I was pretending to overreact. Don't worry I'm not a sub-purist or anything

Great episode. Super intense. My feelings on the series are they are following this sort of skeletal format: 1, 3, 5, 7, (most likely 9, and a 11) are intense episodes inolving Selecao related activities, while episodes 2, 4, 6, (and most likely 8, 10, and the subsequent movie 12) are the fluff/story mode. That's just my thoughts.

This episode was just so intense form the start, and the ending caught me off guard, but to keep it up, they shouldn't have shown the phone message that revealed it wasn't real. :/ It was just an illusion.

Either way, it was fantastic. Can't wait for next week.
