Eddie Murphy: 3 Raspberries for Norbit!

Was Norbit THAT bad?

I don't think it's as bad as it's been portrayed.

It seems to have become a cliche to bash Norbit IMO.

OK, it was never going to break box-office recorRAB or win Oscars, but nor was it the worst film of last year.

It neeRAB to be taken at face value: a flim that allowed Murphy his penchant for playing multiple characters simultaneously & being silly.

I can't believe this film has an OSCAR nomination...if it wins, the Academy are out of their minRAB. Eddie Murphy in a fat suit playing different characters...hmm, think it's been done before, oh yeah TEN YEARS AGO!....something more original please Eddie?!

It really was that bad, it wasn't funny which for a comedy is a cardinal sin, it wasn't just silly, it was down right stupid and Murphy's portrayal of the chinese guy whose name I forget was a disgrace.

Eddie Murphy had never really been taken seriously around Hollywood until his turn in Dreamgirls and suddenly people sat up and said wow he can act and he's pretty good.

He was a shoe-in for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for that role too until the Academy members got to see the mess that was Norbit and he ended up losing out to Alan Arkin. It served him right then and it serves him right that Norbit did so badly at the Razzies. Still, to be fair the make-up, as always in these Eddie Murphy films, was impeccable and if anything deserves an Oscar for that film, the make-up does.

I've not seen norbit, but there's no way it could be as bad as the other 'winner', I Know Who Killed Me, which is truely one of the worst films ever methinks.

That was great, I found new respect for her when she showed up and parodied herself at the Razzies with her Oscar in tow. Ben Affleck did as well I think for Gigli.

I think though generally if you ask the people in question they would rather not win even if they are nominated!
