Okay so i have been suffering from bulimia for awhile i l lost 9 pounds just in the last 2 weeks. .this is the first time i have said it but im reaching out for help because i don't want this to take my life im only 13. .I don't know what to do? i have a councilor but i cant open up too her. . .but i don't know?any advise?

hey there! so i'm only 13 too and most girls are unhappy with the way they look, but eating better foods and what not are really not that hard. its better to just stop making yourself throw up like that. chances are you may not even need to lose weight. by making yourself throw up, your stomach acid will really mess up your throat and lungs, not good.... but really, no matter how much weight you lose now, you will have severe weight problems if you continue down this path. PLEASE STOP IT! you sound like a great kid and i think you know you sound a bit ridiculus by doing this. just talk to your mom, your dad, your friends. or even just start a diary or write letter (to whoever, you don't even need to send it) and maybe even show them to your counciler. you'll feel better after you've opened up, trust me. i wish you the best and that you don't throw your life away just to look like a photoshopped picture. peace.

Yes, if you can't talk to your counselor, you have the wrong counselor! I am glad that you are looking to get real treatment! I wish you luck and health, but you NEED someone you can open up to! Get yourself a counselor you can trust and talk to. If it takes going through a dozen of them, then that's what it takes. You need not feel bad about hurting their feelings. Any counselor worth anything will want you to get better even if it's not with their guidance.

Okay this is definately easier said than done, but i went through the same thing a while ago, and these things worked for me-

You should find SOMEONE you can truly talk to, a councilor is good, but a close friend, boyfriend, or family member would most likely be more helpful

You may want to begin picturing yourself (after you purge) as a shell of who you used to be, wrinkled up, shriveled, and weak, instead of the "ideal" thinness

Also, if you have told someone about what you are going through, and you really trust and love that person, and know the feeling is mutual, think of how horribly sad and dissapointed they would feel if you continue to do this to yourself

Another good trick is to try eating smaller, more healthy and satisfying meals, to keep you fuller and stop you from binging or feeling gross when you eat alot

I hope this helps, and i'm really sorry you are going through this, but you can make it out^_^
