Easy type of Fish to take to a college dorm?

I'm leaving for college and I'm going to miss my pets! I am allowed to bring a fish, so i was wondering what your favorite species of fish is? I want something interesting, not just a goldfish, but still easy to take care of.

Male guppies are interesting and colorful. Your best bet would be to get a 10 gallon with 6 male guppies.

Probelly a Beta fish they are almost as easy as gold fish, but are more colorful. You might also call them Fighting Fish
