Easy question. Using a used 3G USB/PC Card Modem with AT&T

We have the AT&T high speed data plan and picked up the deal in the US for the AcerAspire One for $99.

The netbook is great but the battery life and small keyboard make it difficult to use in the car. We walked into the store planning on getting an actual PC Card but instead walked out with the netbook thinking it would work for our needs.

Its not so I have a buyer for it and was going to pick up a used PC card to use in my other laptop.

I've seen them for $60 on Ebay and they have the 3.2mbps download speed...its just a matter of popping in the SIM right?

Is there one over the other I should look for or anything specific? A new USB card is $249 and I'd prefer a PC card anyways.

Thanks

As long as you have the internet service already active on a sim, all you have to do really is change it out to which ever thing you want to use. PC cards get a little more of a solid connection where as the USB is handy if you ever need to use it in a desktop or whatever. I work for At&t and a lot people prefer the USB, just hang onto your receipt if you buy it from a store and if it doesnt work out take it back.

I heard bad things about that Acer deal, I don't blame you there.

You can pretty much do it with any phone but you're going to want to do it with a 3G phone to get the best service, I would recommend a windows based PDA phone that is 3G, only one bb is 3G and its the most expensive phone we sell--there are many like the BJII, Moto Q, etc that are good.
