I'm going on a 'ruff-it' camp in a few weeks. What are some easy foods that me and my friends could cook? All we got is pasta and sauce and noodles. We cant have anything that will go off. Like dairy stuff and meat. Help pweez?
Thanks :D

***I just resd the no spoiling thing. You really need to bring a cooler of food items. It will get lighter and easier each day.

Meats:

steaks
chops
chicken breasts or even quarters
burgers
sausages/brats
hot dogs
shredded beef, prok, chicken (reheated of course)
beans

Sides:

baked potatoes
bring along potato salad or coleslaw
take an acorn squash, cut in 1/2 and then add a bit of butter and honey and put over the coal wrapped in foil.

Roasted carrots, onions, etc...
corn on the cob
roasted potatoes
slice potatoes potatoes, but don;t go all the way thru. Leave them slightly conntected. Then put a smear of butter on the foil and add seasonings of choice. Place the potatoe cut side down on the butter. Wrap once as is then fip over and wrap again to kind of keep the butter in.

baked sweet potateos

Breakfast:

Instant oatmeal
Cereal
Premade pancakes/french toast. Eat cold or warm up over morning coals.
eggs, left over potatoes etc...
toast and beans

Sweets:

Of course marshmellows
Or try roasting twinkies like the marshmellows. I know it counds kinda crazy but it is Very very good.

Banana fire splits-Cut the banana leaving the bottom peel intact. Add some marshmellows, choc bars etc.... and wrap in foil. Place in the coals for about 10-15 min. Enjoy, you could even sprinkle on some crushed grahm crackers.

Grill some peaches or plums and add a sprinkle of brown sugar.
Or twist up smores:

Use differnt flavored marshemoows suh as caramel swirl, choc, strawberry etc....

Different candy bars- hershey, cookies and cream, reeses cups, caramellows etc...

And grah crackers, ginger snaps, choc chip cookies, sugar cookies and so on for the sandwich part.

You're bot taking a cooler??? If you took a small cooler, you could do hot dogs and brats. But Ramen noodles or Cup of Noodles will work. Trail mix, chips, dry cereal, bread, beans. Basically anything in the snack aisle of the grocery store.

here's a good morning recipe...

You need 1 box of Bisquick and add water until it makes a thicker pancake like batter. I put dry mix in a zip lock baggie and mix in the bag. ( easier to mix and throw away)

take and cut off a marsh mellow stick from a live tree and shave off bark at end.

put your bread dough around the stick and cook in in the hot coals
of the fire.

when cooked, dip in jelly.

me and my mates went camping last weekend and iv never been before! make sure you remember to take a griddle and then you can cook anything ..take one souce pan and one frying pan. In the morning we would have bacon eggs and beans..dinner we had burgers/sausgages in buns and then evening we had jacket potatoes and tuna..if your cooking a jacket..remember to wrap it in foil!! remember tongs aswell

have fun!

What I did when I went camping was prepare a meal in tin foil. I put chicken tenderloins, and veggies (all seasoned), in a pre-sprayed (with cooking spray) aluminum foil. I then put them on top of the open fire on the grill and let them cook. I think in the end I ended up putting them in the coils of the fire. Easy as pie and easy clean up!

One for breakfast was buy those pancake mix in a bottle that all you have to do is buy water. Perfect! Breakfast is served!

For lunch you can always to hot dogs or pre-made hamburgers.

Baking Potatoes, rolled in Aluminum foil (Toss them in the camp fire for an hour then eat Hot!)

Look up bannick. It's really easy because you can premake the mixture and make it while camping - it tastes just like pancakes.

Marsh mellows
Mountain Pies ( they are like pizza and you cook them over the fire)
Tacos in a bag ( crush chip w/ cooked meet and cheese)
Sandwiches
ETC you can cook almost everything over a fire so as long as you bring a cooler meat will be ok
