East -vs- West: The Ultimate Showdown....

Weirder than talking sponges, talking fast food, talking asses, talking pot-smoking dogs that solve mysteries, chickens that wear disguises to look like human guys, nose goblins, Nipples of the Future, Wackyland, Wonderland, The Yellow Submarine, pink elephants on parade, Mama Luigi, Perfect Hair Forever, freaking ninja turtles?
 
I have a fairly low weird tolerance. If something bends my brain and makes no sense, that discourages me from watching it. Fifteen minutes of Evangelion, and I was done.

Ranma 1/2 was too weird. Fruit Baskets was too weird (and drawn too pedo). I'm not even going to discuss the tentacle porn and other perverted offerings.

I don't like buckets of blood (including five gallon nosebleeds). I'm not interested in panty-shots or gratuitous nudity (or, really, any kind of nudity. I'm 37 years old, I'm over that). 'Fanservice' insults me; if I'm going to watch your show, it'll be for the actual show, not because there's some cheesecake on the screen.

I'll take Danny Phantom over Bleach, Justice League Unlimited over Teen Titans any day of the week and twice on Sundays. At this point, I refuse to look at any anime that isn't editted for US Broadcast and dubbed.
 
Yes, anime is weirder than that.

Even ignoring that fact, that means that, say 50% of American animation is too weird for me, which still leaves me options. On that entire list, I believe I've seen 4 entries (Scooby-Doo, which I'm not big on, Tiny Toon Adventures, Dumbo, which I didn't particularly like, and TMNT (the more recent version)).
 
1) Teen Titans isn't anime
2) Justice League Unlimited is filled with fanservice (nothing too dirty, but about on par with your average shonen and more than most American cartoons)
3) If you think Furuba is pedo, you have a very dirty mind
4) Not even Totoro?
5) In response to your other post, I'm surprised you haven't even seen Spongebob
 
Heh I think Eva is overrated anyway.

Still...if you have such a low tolerance for non-sense and weirdness... do you work in a cubicle or something?! Only a soul crushing job in a dreary environment could explain such a... strict view of the world oO
