Easiest Way to jailbreak/unlock iphone 2g?

t-moblie is my carrier & i want to be able to insert my sim card into an iphone 2g

i have tried many ways to jailbreak & unlock the phone and something always goes wrong during the process.
what is the easiest & most effective way to do this, with me not being very computer savvy?
