Easiest phones for a beginner to flash?

I would like to learn how to flash phones to Cricket service. I really would like to learn how to flash and have everything work. I'm thinking about picking up some cheap used phones on e-bay to practice on. That way if I ruin the phone it won't be too great of a loss. Any Ideas? Thanks

HTC Apache, a.k.a. 6700 series. Just ##778 -> SEND, load PRL from a memory card, MDN/MIN pair, SID/NID pair, Mobile IP settings, and Security profile. BAM! Working voice and text and with a few minor tweaks WAP and MMS.

Plus there are all sorts of cool ROM's out there for this bad boy.

Verizon phones, i.e: chocolate, EnV, Voyager, and razr's are pretty dam easy

The LG vx8300 was my first... I have since flashed many other LG's using the same methoRAB. (Look for the VX9900 tutorial)
Moto is also very easy... Hardest one was the Q9c, but after figuring out how to read the SPC it was very easy in the end.
I'm using a Palm Centro now... Will have a Q in the next few days.
