1.) The difference between simple craters and complex craters is complex craters have a central peak or ring whereas simple craters do not have a central peak or ring.

T/F

2.) When studying the relationship between a crater's diameter and the speed of the asteroid when it impacts the surface, as the speed of the asteroid increases, the crater's diameter decreases.

T/F

3.) The gravity of Earth is six times that of the moon.

T/F

4.) Earth has about 14 times the cross sectional area of the moon, making it more likely to be hit by asteroids.

T/F

5.) The surface of the moon and Earth's surface have had the same amount of changes over time.

T/F

1) True
2) True
3) True but there is a quibble. What is true is that close to the surface of the moon the acceleration of a dropped object is about 1.6 meters per second, which is about one sixth of the equivalent 9.8 meters per second near to the surface of the earth. However the moon has only about 1.4% of the mass of the earth, so an object that is equidistant from the earth and the moon would feel a far greater gravitation force from the earth.
4) True. The greater gravity of the earth also makes it more likely to be hit.
5) False - the earths surface is continually changing due to plate tectonics, erosion, vegetation, humans and other factors. The surface of the moon has changed little in billions of years.
