The chance of volcanic activity or an earthquake occuring at both the mid Atlantic ridge and the east pacific rise would be far more common at the mid atlantic ridge.
1) The mid atlantic ridge is much larger.
2) the ridge is moving at a much faster rate
3) the energy produced at the ridge is almost twenty times that of the rise
4) the ridge reaches much warmer waters due to its depth
