Earth science current event?

can someone give me a link to a good earth science current event article that is no more than two weeks old? also, wil you tell me what branch of earth science it falls under, oceanography, astronamy, geology, or meteorology. you dont have to tell me what branch but i would appreciate it.

Astronomy. The event (an extremely bright meteor) was about three weeks ago, but it was only a couple of days ago that they found it had broken someone's SUV windshield. I actually saw the meteor myself, from over a hundred miles north of where it landed.
