Early 1990's GM Vehicle Trouble codes?

I had a guy come out to my house once and he stuck a paper clip into the Diagnostics port on my 1992 lumina and counted the times the check engine light blinked to check for trouble codes. I was hoping I could do the same thing for my 1992 Buick century. It doesn't have OBDII ports so I can't take it to autozone and have them check it. I was wondering which holes I have to stick the paper-clip into to make it blink. (the car doesn't run, by the way). If you could tell me this it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Who told you Auto Zone couldn't test it. They don't know what there talking about. 96 and newer is OBD2 and everthing before 96 is OBD1 and yes there is a connector for them. Use A and B to check your codes. All you have to do is turn the key to the on postion.

Chiltons Auto Repair manual will show where the plug is and which points to jumper with the paperclip, also how to count the blinks and a list of problem codes so you can find out what they mean. Get a Chiltons, or look at one in the library and xerox the part you need.
